Victoria Beckham proves to us time and time again why she’s one of the most fabulous women in the world.  Aside from being a former Spice Girl and owner of one of the most successful fashion empires in the world, Mrs. Beckham has also recently added philanthropist to her resumé.  Three weeks ago she was appointed as a UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador, skipping her flagship store opening to attend a UN press conference to announce her impending trip to Africa as a part of her ambassadorial duties for the UN and Elton John AIDS Foundation.  Victoria took to Twitter to post pictures from her trip to Soweto, where she visited with women and babies to learn more about how to support the cause.  Of her trip, Victoria recounted, “My conversation with young women in Soweto has been an eye-opener for me. It gave me an exceptional insight to the many challenges facing these wonderful young women and mothers.  They moved me with their stories and I want to help in any way I can to inspire them for change.”

Victoria is certainly not the first to support AIDS and bring the cause to light in the media.  Princess Diana was a pioneer in bringing awareness to fight the disease at a time when many were greatly misinformed about the disease, with many others following in her footsteps.  UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador and known philanthropist Angelina Jolie has been an advocate for the cause for years, making countless trips to impoverished nations affected by the disease.  Since 1994, beauty aficionados everywhere have been able to get involved in the fight against AIDS thanks to the the MAC AIDS Fund, which donates all proceeds raised from the sales of VIVA GLAM lipsticks to fight AIDS around the world.  Celebrities including Lady GaGa, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna have all starred in VIVA GLAM campaigns, designing limited edition lipsticks that fly off the shelves every year.  Click here to check out MAC’s VIVA GLAM lipsticks available now!
