It’s no surprise that Brie Larson is soaring in her career and is now joining forces with Marvel.
Marvel announces over the weekend that the Oscar winning actress will be playing Captain Marvel (AKA Carol Danvers) in the 2019 film, Captain Marvel. This is a massive deal for Brie as she will basically be repping the first leading female superhero in the Marvel world. Yes!
The news was revealed at Comic-Con, and Brie shared a snap in a Marvel Studios cap, captioned “Call me Captain Marvel”.
There’s no doubt that Brie will shine in the role of Carol Danvers – but who is she? Originally known as Ms. Marvel in the comic books, the Air Force pilot obtains superhuman powers after becoming exposed to alien DNA in a freak accident.
Her abilities include superhuman strength, endurance, stamina, flight, physical durability, a limited sixth sense, and resistance to most toxins and poisons. She can also fire energy blasts from her fingertips.
