Based on Liz Jensen’s best-selling novel, The 9th Life of Louis Drax is the tale of an accident-prone boy with a history of peculiar, near-fatal incidents.
Louis Drax, played by Aiden Longworth, is a strange and smart boy often teased for simply being himself. While the kids at school call him “wacko-boy” and his parents fight and scream at home, Louis escapes into the fantasy worlds of his favourite novels. The story really begins when Louis has his biggest accident yet – a fall of a cliff on his 9th birthday. On the very same day, Louis’s father, played by Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul, goes missing.
50 Shades of Grey star, Jamie Dornan plays Dr. Allan Pascal, cares for Louis during his recovery and finds himself entranced with Louis’s delicate, beautiful mother played by Sarah Gadon. While the police search for Louis’s father, Dr. Pascal finds himself in a world split between fantasy and reality, struggling to answer why Louis has fallen victim to a strange series of serious accidents year after year.
