I love to take care of my hair. I like using natural products and to apply as little heat as possible to make sure my hair stays super healthy. This is why when I recently needed to get my hair done I went to Duck & Dry – the best in the business for blowdries.

I visited the Oxford Street branch. I’ve walked past the Duck & Dry sign many times but walking up the stairs is a little spot of hidden London heaven. The interior is gorgeous. Once you’re in, you’re welcomed by a forest of beautiful plants suspended from the ceiling with macrame and a swing which you instantly want to have a go on but thanks to the lovely warm welcome by the receptionist, I got distracted and didn’t instantly jump on and managed to keep my cool.

I was greeted and offered a drink (you can grab a glass of Prosecco while you’re there by the way) and invited to have a seat on the chic pink velour seats. I opted for a refreshing glass of lemon water while I flicked through the extensive catalogue of hairstyles. You can pick from all sorts of blowdries and updos. I wanted big hair though so my stylist recommended curling my hair with a brush. I liked this because it meant I was getting gorgeous curls but did not need to apply extra heat and use tongs.

They started by washing my hair. The shampoo and conditioner smelled incredible and I love that Duck & Dry have their own range of natural hair products. I was then invited over to my very own styling pod. As I mentioned, I wanted big hair so they used one of their signature hair products on me – Blow Dry in a Bottle. This product is AMAZING for giving hair extra volume. It has active ingredients like honey locust, which gives hair plumpness and bounce, white nettle, which gives a natural root lift, ginseng, which enriches the hair follicles, giving them texture and grip, and essential oils to give hair nourishment and sheen.

The whole thing took around 45 mins which is perfect as I managed to squeeze it into my lunch break. The way that the stylist worked her magic on my hair was incredible as I have very thick hair which dries quite slowly. She sectioned my hair and dried each small section individually then pinned it up. In the end, she gave it a good spray with some hairspray and let the pins loose. At this point my locks looked super silky and bouncy, it was great and I got so many lovely compliments from people.

A blowdry here is around £35 and it’s worth every penny if you ask me as it lasted me for two days after. I slept as I normally do and woke up with gorgeously styled and bouncy locks each morning, all I had to do is run a brush through it to smooth it out.
I have a wedding coming up in a few months and Duck & Dry will definitely be my number one destination to get my hair done, I would recommend to anyone.
