Forming part of an ongoing celebration of the 50th anniversary of James Bond, Adele will perform her Bond theme tune, Skyfall, at the Oscars, it was confirmed today.
The singer already took home a Golden Globe earlier this month for the track, and it has been nominated for the acclaimed Academy Awards’ Original Song award.

Adele said, “It’s an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again. It’s something I’ve never experienced and probably only ever will once!”
Since giving birth to her baby son last year, whose name has yet to be revealed to the public, Adele’s has yet to perform to a live audience, the Oscar performance will be her first since October.
Oscars producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said of the singer, “She is currently one of the most successful recording artists in the world, and we believe her performance of Skyfall will be an exciting Oscar moment.”
If her Brit Awards 2011 performance of Someone Like You, is anything to go by we’ll be expecting tears.
