We’ve seen a lot of Angelina Jolie in London recently. At first it was all about Maleficent, about her daughter’s first movie role, and her son Maddox’s first Premiere outing. But now her attentions have turned to a far more heartfelt role.
Jolie has been campaigning in London and hosting the End Sexual Violence in Conflict Summit alongside foreign secretary William Hague. She is also part of the initiative involving Stella McCartney called Draw Me To Safety. Read more about McCartney’s collaboration with War Child UK here.

This is just the latest in a long line of ventures that Jolie has been involved in to improve the lives of others in desperate situations and campaigns against sexual violence in war zones, and her efforts have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
Jolie will be made an honorary Dame. As an American citizen Angelina Jolie will not be officially addressed as a Dame, but will still receive the award at Buckingham Palace. Others in attendance will be the likes of fashion designer Zandra Rhodes, who will also be made a Dame, Dame Maggie Smith who will join the Companions of Honour, actor Daniel Day Lewis who will receive a Knighthood, and Stephen Sutton, the inspirational young man who scooped the headlines for his smile and commitment to fundraising before his death last month.
