BE THE GIRL THAT LASHES OUT

I used to wear zero make up. As in none. Back when I was a naive little horse-loving country girl and my glossy pony tail and fresh-air-brightened skin did all the talking. When I hit London things had to change. Don’t get me wrong, I’m in the middle of a love affair with the city. But all that crowded commuting, the traffic-laden streets, the 9-5 air-conned offices, they make looking good sans cosmetics nigh on impossible.

So I succumbed. My once slimline beauty bag became a bulging plastic clutch filled with a dolly mixture-esque mess of matte bases, dewy bases, mono-eyeshadows, palettes, concealers – liquid and cream, eyeliners – gel and crayon, blushers – powder and balm. Everything you can think of.

Add a couple of years into the mix and you become that girl in the gym with kholed eyes, who’s hoping everyone knows she’s only wearing it because she dashed there straight from a work day of must-look-good meetings.

I decided something had to give. It’s a confidence thing, sure, so what would tick both boxes? Loosen the security-blanket hold on make up without making me want to hide behind Anna Wintour style sunglasses?

Lashes.

Intrigued? Here’s the deal. There are secret heroes hiding in London that only the most clued in know about. They tend to the lashes of celebrities, high-powered business moguls and oh-so-groomed ladies that lunch alike. Oh and now me! We’re talking lash extensions. Now don’t shy away! This  new-wave lash service comes with a natural, pretty result that will have you hooked.

Gone are the TOWIE-esque lashes of yesteryear,  these lashes are so subtle and weightless that they fall out when your own lashes naturally do, causing zero damage. Expect fullness, length and curl. Everything you wish your mascara could do and more.

The Twiggy-esque mascara-laden lash look is big this season, sure – you only have to look at the likes of the Rochas, and Gucci AW14 shows, but I fell hook line and sinker for Versace’s more natural AW14 look. So that’s what I’m working with thanks to the natural look lash service taking London quietly by storm.
