There is nothing not to love about Lancôme’s Lip Lover (£18.00). It is everything you want in one rather beautifully packaged stick.
It has the shine of a lip gloss, the pigment of a lipstick and the comfort of a lip balm. Finding a gloss that has staying power is like the holy grail of lip wear. This actually works leaving lips glossy, fleshy and pigmented.
It comes in an extensive palette of shades: nudes and delicate pinks – yes, even these stay on. I am especially liking Pointe De Rose, a fleshy pink and Casse-Noisette, a dark pinkish nude. It is incredibly difficult to find pale colours with staying power as well as dewiness, so these are genius.

There is also a bright pink range from which I’ve tried Lip Lover, which gives your lips a natural rose flush. It kind of enhances the colour that a lip should be and there’s a range of fuchsias and purples with some strawberry shades.
The colours are really well thought out and the shine is non-sticky and silicone infused. It glides over the lips and is said to smooth out any irregularities on application. It works in that there’s a layer of pigment and then a layer of shine.
It is calling itself the next generation lip product and I would say it really is.
I have very dry lips, prone to peeling and lumpiness. As you stroke on the Lip Lover it is so soft and moisturising your lips really do feel loved.
It’s a kind of moisturising lip therapy that lasts too, making your lips feel soft and pillowy.
They are £18 but really you’re getting a lip colour, a gloss and a balm all in one. The packaging is perfect. They are small but not too small, more slender than a lipstick but shorter than a lip gloss. Tiny but mighty.
