When it comes to beauty, finding an all-natural product that does the job as well as you can possibly imagine is very rare. But we think we’ve done it with this little wonder. Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay (£7.84) is 100% natural. It’s free of additives, fragrances, animal products and of course animal testing. And what’s more, it makes one pretty amazing face mask.
Not that that’s any big news, even the the iconic likes of Cleopatra were well-aware of clay’s beautifying properties.
Without getting too heavily into science talk, the chemical structure of the natural clay, when used as a mask, causes impurities to lift out of the skin, resulting in a deep and effective cleanse.
Simply mix the clay with equal parts of water, or apple cider vinegar if you’re feeling adventurous! Apply as a mask about an eighth to a quarter of an inch thick and leave to dry. If your skin is sensitive, leave on for around 5 minutes, but if you’re skin is generally fairly tolerant, you can leave on for up to 20 minutes. Wash off gently with warm water and a muslin cloth or flannel.
