
An internal memo at B&Q reportedly told staff that they would be given a copy of 50 Shades of Grey to prepare for the aftermath of the movie release.
A quote from the email reads ’employees may encounter increased customer product queries relating to rope, cable ties and duct tape’. The beloved DIY store is anticipating an increased number of ‘potentially sensitive customer enquiries’ and has asked staff to make sure that stocks are always high.
It might seem pure comedy, but after the release of the first book in 2012, DIY shops across the country saw an obvious rise in demand for these products. And we’re assuming that once Jamie Dornan’s thrown into the mix, and there’s a visual how-to of the process for all to see at cinemas nationwide, that little demand will be set to rocket.
This might just be our favourite 50 Shades-angled story so far.
