It’s one of those awkward moments, you know, those awkward in between moments? Between spring and summer. When some people have been on holiday, some haven’t. Some have that lovely little summer glow, and some don’t.
My trick to bridge the gap? Bourjois Bronzing Primer (£9.99). It’s sunshine in a dinky little pot. Without any of the bad effects, and all of the good ones.
I’m a bronzer shy girl. The thought of straying that little bit over the line to orange terrifies me. So I steer clear. This is the closest I’ll get to properly contouring. The Bronzing Primer is sheer, subtle but effective. It is designed to be applied in a thin veil over the whole face to enhance skin tone and boost colour.
I tend to dot some on my hand and apply to the hollows of my cheeks and the outer brow sides of my head lightly with a soft and full foundation brush. It blends in perfectly and gives just a hint of colour difference. If I feel the contrast might be too much, I sometimes blend with my tinted moisturiser to tone it down a little more (I told you I’m bronzer shy!).
The texture is velvety and almost mousse like, making it incredibly light on application and even in effect. It is matte too, an essential in any bronzing product that is used with a dewy-look-imparting tinted moisturiser like mine.
It’s my little summer saviour that saves me from the summer temptations of skipping the SPF for a day for the sake of a glow (never do it!), or loading skin with layers of fake tan.
Oh, did I mention that it smells of chocolate?
