Beverley Knight most recently wowed audiences with her performances in last season’s smash West End hit, The Body Guard. Her reprisal of Whitney Houston’s classic movie role went down a storm with critics, and would you know it, it was her West End debut!
She’s continuing her success by bringing the quadruple Tony Award winning Memphis The Musical to the Shaftesbury Theatre.

The musical tells the story of a radio DJ who wants to make the career of a black female singer in 1950s Tennessee and change the world of music whilst he’s at it.
The character of the DJ Huey is inspired by the story of real-life Dewey Phillips from Memphis, and will be played by Killian Donnelly . Knight herself plays singer Felicia, singing her heart out in the rock ‘n roll era.
It’s the songs that steal the show, written by Bon Jovi keyboard player David Bryan.

Memphis The Musical will play from 9th October 2014, but for a sneak preview of what’s to come, take a look at this video from its recent launch event at Ronnie Scott’s.
