I’m notoriously picky when it comes to cleansers. For one, my skin’s rather sensitive, so some products will send it reeling without any warning. I generally want something clear (not a cream), refreshing and nice smelling. Without the inclusion of a lot of perfume. I told you I’m picky!
One product that has really turned my cleanser-wary-head is the Melvita Light Cleansing Foam (£16.00). For a start it’s natural. Its ingredients include the likes of rose and orange blossom floral waters to soften and hydrate skin, as well as narcissus which is known for its brightening properties. It cleanses skin effectively but not harshly. Its reliance on natural remedies results in balancing the skin, and bestowing it with a harmony that it might have been deprived of before.
My skin didn’t feel stripped (it’s soap free), nor did it feel as though product had built up and remained on it. The scent is the result of the natural botanicals within it and is wonderfully calming and reviving all at the same time. It’s a dream to use.
After a bit of research I found out that Melvita is one of the most pioneering brands around when it comes to organic and natural cosmetic and beauty products, so dipping into their range is seriously advised. I tend to wear rose-tinted glasses when it comes to French skincare products any way, but Melvita would have been sure to sway me whatever their nationality.
The brand was founded by a beekeeper (yes, a real live beekeeper!) who chose the name via a word play on the French for ‘honey’ and ‘life’. There’s a little trivia for you. Inspired to try it? Head to BeautyMART. They tend to bring all my favourites over to the UK the generous little things!
