Everything about going to Debbie Thomas feels cool, classy, luxurious, immediate. Effortless.
Debbie is famous for her DNA skin treatment. She is famous for playing her lasers like a symphony on your face, knowing which one to sharpen up or down for which occasion.
If you arrive and if you are going out that night she will perform a facial that makes you look like you were on holiday. You can leave her studio and go to dinner without any kind of redness or any indication that you just had a facial.
If you want more, you can get more. If you tell her you don’t want to leave your house for several days, she will really work with that. Clock turning back work.
I told her I was in a complete panic and had to leave in 45 minutes. She was calm and calming. She is used to it. She is used to royalty and celebrity, she is used to fitting any needs. Her salon at Hari`s ( Brompton Road) is a modern hideaway in Chelsea where Debbie will tailor each treatment to the individual`s skin and needs.
She told me I was going to be weekend ready.
First off this device crept across my face. We called it the carpet shampooer. It got busy with its cleansing, hydrating as well as exfoliating. Then came a warm laser; sometimes very warm, but never hot. This was the rejuvenating Dual Yellow laser.
It was rather cosy and what it does is reduce broken capillaries and rosacea and regulates any kind of pigment problem and uneven skin tone. As well as this it tackles lines and wrinkles and stimulates collagen production.
I am lying there talking about lasers and how much even the ones they say they don’t hurt actually hurt. I remember I was told once in LA it was just going to prick me like an elastic band but I screamed so loud a waiting room full of people had second thoughts.
This laser was nothing like that. Cosy warmth is all you experience and after you look impressively rested. Brighter, younger. She also has new laser, it is called 3D-4D Intra Oral, and it goes inside your cheek to tighten from within. It sounded quite a spooky thing but Debbie says she has tested it and had the evidence that it works beautifully to make your skin stronger, more resilient and more youthful. After this one you get mild to medium redness for a couple of days so that one is on my list for a weekend where I will catch up on binge watching TV.
Debbie Thomas makes everything seem effortless and doable and I love the fact that each treatment is especially bespoke. At the end of it she massages your face, her hands are firm but definitely healing.
