I have wanted to try The Detox Kitchen for a while. I love the idea of beautiful healthy food delivered to you in the morning in packets that are portable and can go with you anywhere. Of course it is always a good idea to eat healthy and get rid of foods that makes us feel tired and bloated but it is hard to do that. Hard for me because I crave sweet things and it is hard to believe after a few days without sugar you are no longer addicted. It is also hard because if you are busy, which everybody is, it is hard to plan.
I love the idea of things being planned for me. The little box of the day’s meals is left at your doorstep.
I have never been very good at breakfasts. The Detox Kitchen breakfasts are amazing. I was wild for the coconut muesli with rice milk and I felt satiated with the porridge and blackberries. I also loved pecan granola. Each day a wonderful juice comes with the breakfast. Cucumber, ginger, pear and lime might have been my favourite.
The lunches are super sturdy, often involving quinoa or brown rice. The dinners are lighter. I particularly liked the broccoli, courgette and spinach soup. You also get a rather lovely snack like avocado cucumber and pumpkin seeds, so essentially I wasn`t hungry. I took the vegan package, but the protein version I am sure is equally delicious for meat eaters.

The danger time for me is the evenings. And as the evening meals tend to be lighter I suggest swapping lunch and dinner around if you are an evening grazer. You also get fruit and nuts in small portions, wheat grass shots and cleansing tea.
There is a special new post-Christmas green version, with a daily 900 calories of green goodness, which costs £32.99 per day. You can also look up Detox Kitchen recipes and make them yourself but for me the whole ease and joy of it is having them delivered.
Agyness Deyn, Elle Macpherson and Gwyneth Paltrow have all raved about Detox Kitchen. They love the taste and how it makes them feel. I certainly loved getting up and finding an exciting box at my door. And for the first time in my life I looked forward to breakfast.
I tried it only for a few days so I am not sure how it goes as a weight loss programme but I am sure if I stuck to it religiously there must be a weight loss benefit. My package also came with some acidophilus pills and I was supposed to have one a day. I did not read the instructions and took them all at once – that was a little too cleansing.
The Detox Kitchen is clever, super easy, super convenient and delicious. After 3 days I want to stay on it forever. My sugar cravings have been drastically reduced.
