My hair has been suffering a little as of late. I don’t know why, it might be seasonal change, it might be the dryer weather, who knows. To set the scene, my hair is long, brunette, totally virgin (uncoloured that is), and subject to the occasional heat styling session. It normally excels in the shine stakes, keeps its body, volume and movement.
Over the last couple of weeks, however, my hair had lost its sparkle. Literally. It had become dull, dry, and though it might not have looked radically different, it certainly felt it. So I went on the hunt for a recharge. After some serious research I happened upon the TIGI Bed Head Urban Antidotes range.
The concept for the range is rehab for hair. They’re designed to revive hair from the stresses of modern life, that is heat styling, colouring, and the ravages of daily stresses like changes in temperature and pollution. There are three different ranges within the same mother range. Each is comprised of a shampoo and conditioner as well as their latest launch, a treatment mask.
I went for the Re-Energize trio (from £11.50), a lightweight programmed designed for fine to normal hair. My pet hate is hair that feels weighed down by product, and this range promises to avoid any such side-effect, whilst instilling hair with shine and movement. It sounded perfect, and gosh ‘n darn it it smelled pretty wonderful too. I could have stayed in the shower forever, enveloped by the heady tropical scent of pineapple and coconut. Who wouldn’t want to bathe in a Pina Colada?!
I finally wrenched myself away from the blissfully exotic little haven my bathroom had become to witness the transformation. I let my hair dry naturally for a while before styling. And the effect? My hair was back! It was shining, gleaming, it was practically smiling! I know I certainly was.
You know those medi-packs you used to get Lara Croft to pick up whilst you were playing Tomb Raider?
