I have been in a lot of airports recently and I have got into a habit of needing to be revived by Tom Ford before I get on a flight. Well, by his beauty line any way.
You know that thing they say about a lipstick changing your life, about how in a depression (personal) in a recession (public) sales of make-up rocket. Lipsticks in particular because they are the most instant and accessible and affordable semi-transformative experience.
So that’s how I ended up with the Tom Ford Lip Color in Wild Ginger (£37.00), a brighter than coral orange red, a colour that I’ve never worn in my life before.

It was so dramatic and the colour weirdly flattering. I also love the feel of it on the lips. It was super rich and soft, ultra creamy, yet I was to discover highly pigmented and stays on for several hours through food, drink and flight.
I also seemed to acquire a lip-gloss that was super pearly. Originally I was attracted to it to mute down the orangeness, but it is beautifully conditioning.

On another trip as I was enjoying lipstick that stays on forever I thought I’d have a go with eyewear that stays on forever. The Tom Ford Eye Primer Duo (£35.00) is a hero product. The creamy eye cream goes on matte and luscious. In itself it bestows a perfect eye look with just an eyeliner. But what it is designed to do is prevent creasing and extend eye shadow life for up to 15 hours. Though it promises 15 hours but it can actually deliver 24.
The oil absorbing powder that comes with it ensures superb colour definition and also seems to give an extra sheen. The Tom Ford Eye Colour Quads are long lasting and quite simply amazing. It’s hard to stay away from them. I love the fact they can be either matte or glittery. It’s a very subtle dusty glitter, the kind of eye shadow you expected fairies to wear as a child and it’s incredibly inviting as an adult.
