I know we’re all supposed to titter and tut when celebrities release a sideline business or publication, but when it came to Blake Lively announcing that she is due to launch her own lifestyle business in the near future, well, I couldn’t help but get a tiny bit excited.
The blonde bombshell has risen from her initial foray into Hollywood with Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, to teen drama queen as Gossip Girl‘s iconic Serena Van Der Woodsen and now bags some of the most sought after movie roles around.Not only that but somehow she has found herself married to the sumptuous and all-round-nice-guy Ryan Reynolds.
Their wedding was by all accounts perfectly intimate and romantic, and their ensuing marriage is a vision of held hands, chunky knits and dog walking. All of this Blake Lively has achieved with the grace and humility of one much older than her 26 years, and minus the showy drama of those even younger.
Needless to say I can’t wait for the launch of the Lively lifestyle venture! Of course it is unlikely to to be a manual on attaining your very own Ryan Reynolds (more’s the pity!) but if any anecdotes or advice from this lady will be well worth taking. Gwyneth Paltrow’s success in the lifestyle field is another assurance that Blake’s venture is likely to be a hit. Though if the rumours of her love of baking cupcakes is anything to go by, we are set to see a bit less quinoa and a tad more buttercream.
Blake’s website titled ‘Preserve’ is the first showing of this business, and is due to launch next week. A section of it is set to feature handmade products selected by Blake herself, which will be available to purchase. Whether they’re whicker or jams, if they’ve had Ms Lively’s nod of approval, we predict a sellout!
