The Beauty and the Dirt office was Bourjois-filled yesterday.
They have a selection of new products out for summer, so I was thrilled to get my hands on them and create an everyday look using some of their newest additions to this classic Parisian brand. I did a little make-over on our lovely intern Catriona, and the colours were super easy to use – and cream bronzer and blush wasn’t something Catriona would normally use, so I wanted to show her how easy they can be.
With it’s feather-light texture, Sun Illusion £10 melts effortlessly into the skin giving a soft bronzed look. Apply over your foundation, or wear it alone for a naturally sun-kissed appearance. I put a teeny bit under the cheekbones to add a soft contour, and blended out over temples and under the chin with a Charlotte Tilbury Powder and Sculpt Brush £35 – which is the perfect shape for contouring in the cheekbones with its pointed, soft, tapered end (definitely my new favourite cheek brush). As I was blending out the product in more specific areas over the face, I used a brush, but fingers would be fine if you are spreading evenly over the face for an all-over bronzed look.
Aqua Blush 12hr Cream Blush £8.99 blends into your cheeks to give a gorgeous natural flush, oozing radiance with it’s sheer fresh colour, in a water-light gel texture. It comes in 4 shades to choose from, and squeezes out of a pump and almost leaves a stain, which really sinks into the skin for that real skin texture. I used my fingers to pat a small amount of this product onto the apples of the cheeks for a subtle finish.
Brow Natural Pen £6.99 has a precise felt-tip pen like tip allowing easy application, that is smudge-free. Once set, it is claimed to last all day. It comes out quite sheer to allow for a natural blend of colour in between your brow hairs, to give a filled out, and precise brow. Apply with small, hair-like strokes for the most realistic look.
Brow Design Mascara £6 uses a tinting and setting formula to style your brows, using a soft bristled brush, to tidy and fill in your brows instantly. There are 4 shades to choose from which are Blond, Chatain and Brun plus for those who just want something plain – transparent.
Brow Beauty Touch eyebrow highlighter £6.99 pencil is a perfect finishing touch to instantly illuminate the eyes. Apply softly beneath the eyebrow arch and the inner corner of your eye to instantly brighten and illuminate eyes. I use a brush or my fingertips to blend out the product naturally into the skin for a touch of brightness. Has a soft pearl-sheen in it which subtley catches the light as you move, giving a gorgeous glow.
Colorband 2-in-1 eyeshadow and liner are chunky crayon-style pencils with a creamy formulation which blends out easily. So they can be used for a soft, or defined look depending on how you apply them. They are long-wearing, well pigmented and dual purpose, at a great price.
Rouge Edition Aqua Laque comes in a range of shades, and is a non-sticky gloss, giving a mirror like shine. It is soft on application on glides on smoothly, giving a good amount of coverage. The colours range from soft nudes to statement brights, for any look.
