There are rather a few well-known diamond labels in fashion, the likes of Chanel, Dior, Versace. And one diamond became somewhat lost and forgotten about in recent years. But now, in 2014, it has been found and is set to be polished off and restored to its former glory. Charles James was once one of the most desired labels, a couturier of dresses that graced royals and Hollywood belles alike.
Harvey Weinstein of elite movie fame has confirmed that his company will be licensing with an option to buy this luxurious fashion name. He said of his latest venture that ‘Charles James was one of the most incredible couturiers in the history of fashion and this label deserves to be a household name in the same ranks as Chanel, Dior and Oscar de la Renta. There isn’t a single designer in high fashion who wouldn’t name him as a major influence. We are beyond thrilled to be spearheading the revival of this brand and bringing it back to the world’s finest retailers.’
It’s a timely takeover, as the design label’s gowns will be celebrated and exhibited at the New York Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art this year.
