I was really excited about being at the launch of the #lipstickenvy campaign with Estée Lauder at the Selfridges counter on May 1st with beauty guru and lover of a bright lipstick, Sali Hughes. There are some fantastic events happening in all the stores for six weeks, you should really go in and see for yourself and make sure you stop by the Estée Lauder counters to see the Pure Color Envy Lipsticks. While you are there get your free Instaprint photo, learn some professional make up tips and have some nail treats* from the lovely team at the counter.
Women queued for hours to have Sali pick the perfect lipstick shade for them from the new fabulous line of Pure Color Envy lipsticks, and then print out their instagram photo of them wearing it at the space age looking Instaprint machine. But don’t worry if you missed Sali, the girls at the Estée Lauder counter can talk you through how to determine which is the perfect colour for you, it’s really clever, I defy anyone not to leave with at least one, probably 2 new shades. Natalie helped me with mine, she is absolutely gorgeous and I would recommend getting some make up tips from her too. While you are there make sure you see the two shades that are exclusive to Selfridges too; Daring and Ambitious Pink. You can also go to #lipstickenvy on Instagram and see everyone who has posted so far, it was a brilliant night and we are constantly checking the # to see all the prints everyone is loading and what colours are the most popular. The real sell outs that night were a gorgeous coral red called Envious, the most perfect pinky nude shade called Intensely Nude and I was wearing a really pretty bright pink called Powerful.
The Pure Color Envy Lipsticks have real staying power and go on like a moisturising lip balm, so they feel really good on your lips and you almost forget you are making a statement with the brilliant colours in the collection. The colour density is so intense you only need one coat and it can last up to 6 hours, I have tried and tested these and even after an evening of drinking I did not need to reapply. Because the texture is so moisturising the colour stays on the whole lip and not that patchy dry feeling you get when you think you still have colour on, but really it’s just around the edge of your mouth and all over your Martini glass, I don’t really know how they do it, but it works! I also love the snazzy new magnetic cases, no more losing the lids in the bottom of your make up bag, these snap straight on and have a very luxe look and feel to them.
