I have discovered the most amazing lipstick. It stays on forever. It’s just the right amount of matte, just the right amount of shine. You feel it moisturising your lips and it’s from CYO cosmetics at Boots. Only £5.00. They recently launched in Loved up, Dream Date and Keep ‘Em Keen. All gorgeous colours and just the right amount of red.
I am a person whose lips constantly dry and peel, especially in the winter and you can be sure the ratio is the longer the lipstick stays on your lips the more it’s going to dry them out. These beauties have broken the ratio. Dare I say it – kissable lips. They’re packaged in an elegant straightforward black and other goodies in the range include a lip and cheek stain. It’s a multi-tasker, it glides effortlessly on to lips and cheeks and the colour stays. The colour is in fact so vibrant, when I used the darker shade on the cheek it was way too impactful and tough to remove but in a good way.
The last lipstick I loved so much was a gorgeous red from Louboutin that came in a golden bullet. I fell in love with it a little less when it made me miss a flight because security at the airport decided it was a weapon. I was allowed to take it with me but I felt a little less in love with it. Then I noted that it did not respond well to heat. By that, I don’t mean it took a vacation on a hot stone beach. I mean I left the central heating on overnight and it melted away completely. And it cost twenty times more than these lovelies.
CYO also do a two-tone lipstick. I’m not quite sure how this operates but I think the slightly darker shade provides a lip liner so you have volumized lips with the same glide-y formula but super defined. When I say I’m not quite sure how it works, this is part of the CYO philosophy. They give you no tools, no rules, no finished looks of people looking perfect. You just play with it. It’s creative and strangely empowering.
All the lip products feel wonderful and with a high pigment and I’m particularly fond of the two in one lipstick liner. I like make up that multitasks, that works hard and usually, that means another ratio – the smarter the product, the higher the price. But these are definitely affordable and fabulous.
CYO two-tone lipstick £5 is available from Boots.
