I think a man’s watch is one of his most defining accessories, I can find myself seriously impressed and more interested in a man who is wearing a good watch. It does not have to be flashy or expensive, it just shows a sense of style, character and elegance, all very important when you think how limited men can be in their wardrobe choices compared to women. Personally I do not want to see any other jewellery on a man, other than his wedding ring naturally, although I’d be disappointed if I saw one on a man I liked.
I love looking at watches, male and female, they are like sunglasses to me, you just can’t seem to be satisfied with what you have, there’s always another gorgeous, shiny new design that catches your eye. I got complety lost in looking through the incredible choice of men’s watches on the watch gallery site, just when you think you have found a favourite, 4 more pop up that you also just might like too. The mix of pricing on the site is also very well positioned, you can find some great watches in the cheaper bracket that look more expensive and if your budget is higher then lucky you, but trust me you will be rather spoilt for choice at The Watch Gallery, they must have a very savvy buying team, there’s also a great choice of limited edition pieces you might like to snap up too. The navigation is also well thought out to try to help you with what you are looking for.
I like a sporty watch that is not too chunky, you can still wear it with a suit but looks just as good at the weekend with jeans and a t-shirt and would look great on your arm at a Grand Prix too. These are some of my picks from the site, a watch like this could last you a lifetime and is an excellent investment piece.

1. TAG Heuer Monaco £2,450
Tag Heuer Monaco men’s watch has been engineered and designed to reflect the power and speed of motor racing cars. This is a more unusual shape than what you would expect from a TAG, it has a vintage and retro look, it is Swiss-made and it has been finished off with a polished steel case, secured by a fine black alligator leather strap and it is also water resistant.
2. TAG Heuer Monaco £4,050
Similarly, this Tag Heuer Monaco is also a sports watch inspired by motor racing cars. Domed in sapphire crystal, the watch has a striking blue dial with chronograph display. We like the luminous markers and red detailing which stand out to make this another unique looking watch face.
3. Breitling £4,270
If you’re not into leather straps, we’ve chosen this Breitling steel bracelet strap watch, the strap looks more elegant if you are wearing a suit for work but the metal used to construct it is what gives it an edge, love that blue face too.
4. Alpina £2,390
This is a limited edition piece by Alpina. It is one of four hundred pieces and it was created to aid the “Race for Water” Foundation. Made from stainless steel, the watch is protected by a scratch and water resistant sapphire crystal glass. Another classic looking sports watch.

1. TAG Heuer Aquaracer £3,150
We find ourselves drawn to TAG Heurer’s timepieces. Their Aquaracer collections are some of the finest aquatic sports watches and this particular watch features a stunning silver dial and a while dial. It’s a clean looking face, and I love the silver against the white.
2. Breitling £2,990
This particular timepieces is part of Breitling’s Superocean range. It qualifies as a first rate diver’s watch because of its design which gives it the necessary functionality. Apart from the practicality of this watch, we really love the blue dial which also makes it the ultimate accessory…talk about multi-functionality.
3. Longines £790
This Longines timepiece is also suited to the action man who wants to wear his watch for diving. Very classic and masculine with its black bezel in combination with the cream dial which creates a very cool and modern design.
4. Tissot V8 Quartz £310
If some of the above are not within your budget, don’t worry, we’ve selected this Tissot V8 timepiece which comes at an affordable price and sat next to the others you would not guess it was a lot cheaper than some of the others. Another racing inspired watch, I think this is great looking watch for £310.
