D&G The Essence of Holiday Collection

When we heard about the D&G Essence of Holiday Collection; we couldn’t resist the glistening gold, contrasted against the intense black and the pops of rouge. Very Christmassy.

Yesterday I got my hands on this wonderful collection, and created an easy look for you to recreate which I thought would look sophisticated, but still dazzling of course, for an evening out. This look could be easy built up on your existing makeup – so it’s a good one to do at your desk at the end of your work day before you head on out to your xmas do’s… and that’s precisely what I did here (hence the darkish lighting).

For this look I used the Perfect Mono Cream Eye Colours (£25) in two of their newest colours – Pearl Dust 25 and Extreme Black 150. Because you’re literally covering your lid in this gorgeous soft matte black cream, it wipes any any imperfections of the day. It’s practically cheating..

1. I started off with a standard black liner in my waterlines and lash line – and blending that all out softly.  I even had my mascara on from the day, as you can see! I grabbed the Extreme Black Cream Colour with a soft brush and just went for it. I was so pleasantly surprised at how gorgeously soft and evenly this cream blended out. This is how I got away with using just the one colour, as you can build this product up or down. Could even use this as an eyeliner, it is so versatile. Loved it.

2. Using a smaller, harder brush (or your little finger) I dabbed a bit of Pearl Dust Cream Colour on the inner corner of my eyes, and again, this cream is super dense and bright, and stayed put. So good for adding an accent gold or highlight, as it truly stands out.

3. I slicked on a little of the Glam Liner (£25.50) this is optional really, but I wanted to go a little feline-y. This one is waterproof and smudge-free.

4. Again, this is up to you – to add a little more glittering effect, without the glitter, I simply dotted on the liquid liner around where the shadow faded out using the extremely precise tip, which is teeny. Such a great brush in the Glam Liner – which is quite hard to find in my opinion!
