It is Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris this week, where the biggest names in fashion will showcase some of the most stunning garments in the world. Dior, Chanel and Valentino are to name a few that are revealing their luxurious collections to us all throughout the week of Couture shows.
The dreamy world of Haute Couture is the art of dressmaking on a grand and extravagant scale, and all pieces are handmade in ateliers in Paris. Today is day three of PFW and all eyes were on last night’s Christian Dior show…
It is a rather momentous week for Dior, as the fashion industry gears up for the long awaited announcement of who will take over as new creative director – Maria Grazia Chiuri is said to be the next in reign – and the news is to be officially confirmed by the fashion house after this couture show.
Dior opted for a modern, monochrome collection with focus on form and shape, giving an effortlessly feminine feel. It echoed the elegant romanticism that Chiuri is thought to bring to the brand.
Supermodel Bella Hadid strutted her stuff down the clean white runway in the French capital wearing an all-black ensemble.
BEAUTY
Cut liners as sharp as a knife, Dior’s Creative Director of Makeup Peter Philips created the beauty look for the Dior Haute Couture show last night.
Heavy eye make up in black and gold was combined with natural looking hair held back by rectangular gold clips, bringing a bit of an edge to classic elements.
