Last month, the cast for the upcoming and hotly-anticipated Dreamgirls West End show was revealed. One third of the soulful trio will be American singer and actress Amber Riley, who we know and love best from the musical series, Glee.
She will be joined by Ibinabo Jack as Lorrell Robinson and Liisi LaFontaine as Deena Jones, making up the soulful singing group ‘The Dreams’.
In anticipation of the theatre production coming this Autumn, Amber has created a teaser video where she talks about her character and she performs ‘I Am Changing’, which is one of the iconic tracks from the musical’s score – and you get to watch it here:
Dreamgirls tells the story of a young female singing trio from Chicago, “The Dreams” and their tumultuous journey to stardom. They find out the hard way that, show business is just as tough as it is fabulous. The musical features classic and much-loved songs including ‘And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going’, ‘I Am Changing’, ‘Listen’ and ‘One Night Only’.
