Bringing freedom of movement and elegance out to the ladies’ tennis court, Lacoste are launching a trio of fragrances inspired by and designed to reflect three moods; elegant, natural and playful.
The fragrances
With a shared jasmine note echoing through the three scents, they hold a familiarity which links them to the timeless feel of the brand. Each fragrance have lively scents, to wear depending on your mood.
Elegant: confident, classic and fresh. Citrus oils and pink pepper give an instant lift, which is mellowed by mimosa to bring a soft edge to the mix. Vetiver heats it up even more, to give a slight unisex touch.
Natural: uplifting, authentic, and warm. Sweet coconut accord wraps around sharp raspberry leaves, mandarin and pineapple. It finishes on powdery notes of orris for a fresh, light scent.
Sparkling: Sweet, playful and has attitude. Macaron links this fragrance back to Lacoste’s French roots, with notes of fruit and spice, to give an edge. Patchouli adds ultimate sophistication to a fun fragrance.
Inspiration
The fragrances were inspired by the style of the pleated tennis skirt. During the 1920’s René Lacoste was a visionary of forward-thinking designs, and with the creation of the now legendary L. 12. 12. polo shirt which allowed him the freedom of motion – women players were also aiming for freedom during this time. By breaking conventions, shortening their pleated skirts, they were following Lacoste’s lead by making the radical style statements to physically and within society allow greater freedom. The pleated skirt is still worn to this day.
