When I was growing up I had an aunty who would always be reaching around in her handbag for her waxy stick of lip gloss, although in those days it wasn’t very glossy. She complained of dry lips and I hoped that that would never be me. But of course it is.
Through years of lip abuse with lipsticks that were heavy in pigment, intense on the plumping, I have become a lip balm expert and even the lip balms I don’t like I always keep for emergency so there’s always some lip balm or another lurking at the bottom of a bag. There’s one that comes on the Air New Zealand plane from Antipodes which is a great texture and powerfully effective. But even ones that are too gloopy or too waxy I still use while I search for the perfect one which may well be the very powerful Elemis Lip Revive Conditioning Balm.
I love the way it glides on and even with no colour at all it gives the lips a juicy pout. It’s made from white beeswax, rich in vitamins and it tastes of mint freshness which adds a shimmer of cooling. But what’s even better about this, I don’t have to reapply it a million times a day as soon as my lips start to feel itchy or sore. One application is enough for lip softening and plumping. £16.50 is a good price for luxury lips.
