Whilst we’re still holding out for our spring/summer doses of vitamin D, we wouldn’t say no to a little help in the mean time. There’s a whole confusing world of beauty supplements out there, so we’ve pulled together a few of our tried-and-tested favourites to make it clearer…
The Super Elixir by WelleCo (from £36.00). When Elle Macpherson launched her Super Elixir with WelleCo last year she caused quite a stir. This sleekly packaged powder is made up of 45 key ingredients (read up on them all here) all designed to keep your body within its optimum alkaline levels. It’s a one-fits-all type supplement that came about when Elle visited Dr Simone Laubscher to resolve her body imbalance, in terms of hormones, fat storage, fatigue and stress. Laubscher sent her away with a bundle of supplements that did the trick, and The Super Elixir came to be when Elle asked whether all these amazing ingredients could be packed into one supplement. We trust it completely.
Bodyism Clean & Lean Beauty Food (£55.00) is packed with powerful marine collagen peptides, a fibrous protein that can assist the deep repair of damaged skin and can help increase skin’s elasticity for a firm and more radiant complexion. It’s got a serious greens boost too, with ingredients like spinach, broccoli and barley grass adding a strong dose of anti-oxidants into the mix. Aloe also features, if you haven’t heard about its anti-inflammatory properties, make sure to look them up now.
Perfectil Platinum Skin Radiance (£38.69) is a favourite amongst the beauty savvy. It contains bio-marine collagen, vitamin, mineral and botanical extracts and comes in easy-to-take tablet form. All the ingredients contribute to collagen production, cell protection and cell division. Tackles the signs of aging whilst strengthening hair and nails.
We love a Fountain molecule. Not only do they look pretty and potion like, their gel like texture and do-able flavours mean they can be taken a spoonful at a time like a Mary-Poppins-esque medicine, or whizzed up on smoothies and juices. The Hyaluronic Molecule (£28.00) is an essential beauty find. It’s a concentrated beauty supplement of hyaluronic acid to keep skin plump and firm from within.
Clean & Lean Omega Brilliance (£40.00). These capsules contain beneficial fatty acids extracted from raw fish oil that contain retinol, well known for its skin clearing properties, and can assist the body in levelling blood sugar levels and metabolising fat. Many models swear by fish oil tablets for keeping away the dreaded tummy fat pouch, and this is one of the purest sources of it you’ll get.
