With a few more rainy days making their presence known this month, it’s no wonder that we’ve been turning our attention to quick-fix blow dries. Here are our favourite places to grab a quickie hair fix that won’t hurt the new season shopping budget too much!

Hersheson’s was there at the start of the blow dry craze. They brought the stateside blowout to the UK with their first Hershesons Blow Dry Bar (£25.00) a few years ago, and now they’re renowned for it. They were the first to market the ‘point at the picture’ service, quickening up the blow dry process even more! And they’re still going with different style options being release all the time!

Blow Ltd arrived in Covent Garden last year, promising fast services (for eyes, face, nails and hair) on a budget. And boy have they delivered! Blow Ltd (£25.00) is now one of the beauty hotspots that London’s Covent Garden is renowned for, and it’s well worth a visit.

Check out the brand new Selfridges Beauty Workshop Quick Fix Umberto Gianini Blow Dry (£35.00), launching at the Birmingham store this week! Located at the centre of the UK’s famous department store, it’s the perfect way to indulge in a cheeky hair boost mid-way through a luxurious shopping trip.

The Blow Bar (£25.00) does what it says on the tin! With locations in and around London, you can expect this brand to be expanding in the UK, providing a convenient stop-off point for the must-have express blow-dry.
And what could be more budget-friendly, than a do-it-yourself one at home? Our Editor Krista Madden shares her tips.
The At-Home Blow Dry! Tips from our Editor…
Use John Frieda Frizz Ease from the roots to ends to help detangle and coat hair. Spritz a heat protector spray (I love Dove Heat Protect Spray (£4.59)) on the middle and ends and plenty of volume spray (my favourite at the moment is Color Wow Hair Raise The Root Thicken and Lift Spray (£16.50)) at the roots and crown, not forgetting the hairline at the back of the neck.
Blast hair holding your head upside down to get added volume until it is 70% dry, then finish of the styling with the Babyliss Big Hair Spinning Brush (£44.99).
Seal hair and avoid frizz with a shot of cold air from your hairdryer, angling the nozzle in the direction your hair grows, until it is bone dry. Add a light spray of L’Oreal’s Elnett if you like, et voila!
