So beauties, we’re here to tell you that powder is soooo last season. You have no excuses. The weather is officially getting warmer, we’re all getting a little more vitamin D and our skin is glowing! We’ve shoved our full coverage foundation bottles to the back of our cosmetics shelf in favour of lighter CC creams, BB creams and tinted moisturisers. The sheer and dewy consistency of such bases do not mix well with a dry powder. So for a flush of colour, we turn to a cream blush. I’ve always been a fan. I never use a powder. So here are our five favourites.

When my favourite cream blush was discontinued I turned to this little beauty and found instant comfort. DiorBlush Cheek Creme (£24.00) is light and satiny in texture. It isn’t sticky and the colour itself has a little pearlised sheen that highlights and brightens a complexion. It makes you look perkier and more awake. An instant morning pick-me-up.

This Bourjois Cream Blush (£7.99) is cute and perfectly compact. The texture is sheer and slightly glossy, and there is a wide range of shades available. At this price you can afford to pick up a couple of colours and mix and match as desired. It’s a well-loved original that never fails to impress with its stay power.

You’ll have heard of the NARS Multiple. If you haven’t….well where have you been quite frankly?! I remember being obsessed with NARS when I was younger. I knew it was the mystical makeup brand that was used on the cast of Friends, and as a Jennifer Aniston hero worshipper, I couldn’t wait to indulge in it when I was old enough. The Multiple is its hero product and this season they have launched the NARS Matte Multiple (£30.00) in brand new shades. Use dry for a vivid pop of colour on cheeks or lips, and wet for a sheer sweep of your chosen shade across cheeks and a subtle pretty flush.

When it comes to natural shades and classic sophistication in a cream blusher, Liz Earle is the brand to go to. The Liz Earle Healthy Glow Cream Blush (£16.50) comes in a range of rosy, tawny shades that aren’t too light or girly. Plus, it’s an excuse to visit a Liz Earle store or counter, and who doesn’t love one of those?

If you’re keen for something a little bolder and brighter then head to Topshop. Their makeup range has become something of a phenomenon since its launch a mere few years ago. The Topshop Cream Blush (£7.00) is sleek and compact, highly pigmented yet sheer. Their brighter pinks have undertones of blue that will highlight a tan to perfection during the summer months. The price point is pretty darned gorgeous too.
