Global Lust by Chrissy Iley
Sometimes I feel like I live on a plane. If that sounded pretentious it wasn’t meant to be. It was meant to sound exhausted.
Planes are not good for the body. I try to have very little sleep the night before so I’ll sleep on the plane. I drink a litre of water. Try not to drink wine. Try, anyway.
My skin has a mind of its own. For days after the flight I have peeling lips and dry sunken cheeks. Sometimes they give you moisturiser on the plane. Sometimes I use it. It’s never very good.
I used to take a pot of really gloopy stuff and smear it all over me in the olden days when everything didn’t have to be tiny.
This last trip though I got prepared. Bobbi Brown make tiny pots and tiny bottles. Perfect for the plane or for a weekend away when you don’t want to take your entire make-up counter.

I dosed up before, and a few times during, with Bobbi Brown’s hydrating serum, hydrating eye cream and hydrating face cream.
Hydrating is a word that’s bandied around rather generously these days. So much so that I don’t automatically have any faith in the word.

However, the serum was silky. My skin drank up the fluffy hydrating cream. It’s whipped super-light and super easy. It makes your face tingle with freshness even in the most challenging circumstance.
The eye cream provided an instant firming. There was no drooping or draining. The mini empty pots came in their own package with labels so you know exactly what you’re putting on your face. An extremely obvious but useful device. I have many pots of cream samples and I have no idea what any of them are. I liked the way I could do my mid-flight facial with the tiny perfectly sized pots.
I remember in the golden age of air travel on Virgin Atlantic you used to get a lady in a white coat offering you a neck or hand massage. Now my Bobbi Brown mid-flight facial is the nearest thing in the skies to that luxury.
