Weekly Seductions by Samuel Hoque
Don’t overlook the importance of sunglasses in pulling together, balancing and highlighting a summer outfit. Haute sunglasses may not be made-to-measure but these frames are engineered and tested rigorously with style, comfort and fit high on the agenda. And where the majority of fashion houses often outsource their clothing manufacturing, couture pieces and sunglasses are home-produced in either Paris or Milan, with a reported “average of ninety pairs of hands touching a single frame.”
Here are our standout pieces for the summer season:
We love Prada’s quirky decorated frames, tempered by the sleek monochrome palette and offset by flawless skin and a bold lip.

Dolce & Gabbana’s stripy neon shades are definitely not for the faint hearted (perhaps opt against the vying-for-attention headscarf and OTT earrings) but will pop against tanned skin and a nude, pared-back clothes palette.

In glossy, transparent shades of seafoam green, yellow and pink, Gucci’s summer eye candy adds a subtle wash of colour to the face.

And then of course, there’s the classic big, bold Versace signature shade. This year with oversized cats’ eye shape and heavy black frames – perfect to hide behind whilst people watching.
