We’ve seen very little of Blake Lively and hubby heartthrob Ryan Reynolds since she’s taken a little break from acting, but as one of this year’s new spokeswomen for L’Oreal, we can expect to see her gracing many a red carpet this summer. She kicked off her season in style at the Met Gala 2014 in a Grecian gown and burgundy jewels. The bearded beau on her arm didn’t harm her look either.
Her hair, as usual, was utterly enviable. We’ve put our heads together at Beauty And The Dirt to show you how to achieve the same look for yourself. You can thank us later.

First of all this style requires a high shine, glossy head of hair, full of movement and bounce. Choosing the right shampoo and conditioner is key. Try the Percy & Reed Colour and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner Due (£25.50).

Wash and dry as usual, making sure to apply an effective heat protection spray before switching on a big-barrelled curling tong and getting ready to style. The Moroccanoil Heat Protection Styling Spray (£18.85) works to protect hair, as well as infuse it with the nourishing benefits of its unique formula, so your heat protection will come complete with a glossy finish. Perfect!

Curl large sections of hair backwards away from your face. Imagine putting in rollers. Use the same action and roll hair back onto the curling tong in the same direction. This will give you lift at the roots and give your curls more bounce. When you release hair from the tong, hold it in its curled circular shape in your hand for a minute or two until it cools. This will help the curl set. If you have more time, pin each curl to your head so that hair cools thoroughly before you take it down. We love the Mark Hill Sexy Waves & Curls Pro Magic Wand (£54.99).
Let hair down and brush through lightly. Create a deep side parting and sweep the side with less hair back against your head, pinning with bobby pins. Twisting or braiding this section of hair back will give you more opportunity to disguise the placement of the bobby pins. Let the rest of the hair hang loose, flowing over the other shoulder.

Finish with spritz of light hairspray, making sure not to overdo it, the key to this look is movement. L’Oreal’s Elnett Satin Lumiere Hairspray (£2.99) should do the job perfectly. And there you have it!
We wish we could tell you how to get a husband like Blake Liveley’s too, but if we knew that, then Beauty and the Dirt would be a whole different sort of website!
