After lusting over all of the beauty looks from last night’s Glamour Awards, one thing that stuck in our brains was the lovely Fearne Cotton‘s banging hairdo. The star opted for tight 70’s curl which we completely fell in love with. We envy her big bouncy hair from the night so we are eager to try rock this look for ourselves.
Here are some to hair products we totally recommend that you get your hands on to get this sexy hairstyle:
With Heat
Using heat to curl your hair is the quick and easy option, but make sure you prep using a heat protector to keep your tresses damage-free.
Tangle Teezer Original (£9.99) Wet or dry, this miracle brush is the answer to all of your tangle issues. We also like to use this brush to infuse our conditioner, treatment or hair masques from root to tip, making sure we have product distributed evenly into our hair. It works to untangle without any hair breakage, reducing split ends and damage which is the perfect prep product for any hairstyle you go for.
Toni & Guy Heat Protection Mist (£4.66) Because who doesn’t like a bit of a bargain? Plus we know we’re going to get great results from this brand. This spray works to smooth and condition the hair whilst protecting it from any heat damage. simply spritz through damp hair for blowdrying, or top up with a little more on dry hair for any tongs or heat stylers.
Schwarzkopf Got2B Express Dry Styling Spray (£2.70) Quicker drying/heating time equals less heat and less damage. And we like that. This spray also gives great volume so for us, it’s a complete bonus and so perfect for keeping your curls big and bouncy.
Kardashian Twirl Me Curl-Defining Cream-Gel (£10.95) This lightweight styling cream if infused with Black Seed Oil and kees your curls looking shiny and perfect, without frizz or drying them out. Simply apply to damp hair for envious curls.
Lee Stafford Chopstick Hair Styler Heat Tong (£19.99) Due to it’s narrow tong this curling wand will give you those tight, 70’s style curls, rather than waves. At a great price you can’t go too wrong with these!
Without Heat
If you want to curl your hair completely guilt-free – it is so possible and easy too, it just takes a little preparation in advance. All you need is damp hair!
Aveda Be Curly Style Prep (£21) gives soft and shiny curls without that ‘crunchy’ look that some curling products give (we’re looking at you mousse). This prep adds moisture and curl definition leaving it super soft and frizz-free.
Moroccan Oil Treatment Original (£31.85) You can’t beat a good old bit of moroccan oil. Your hair will thank you for this – it is a great product to use through the ends on damp hair to lock in shine and give a silky smooth finish. Soaks into hair without leaving an oily residue, and also tames those flyaways to help your curls stay in tact.
Superdrug Bendy Rollers (£3.99) There are all types of ways to create curls overnight, the internet is full of creative ways including using socks and handkerchiefs to wrap their hair around. But we want to keep this as easy as possible, so we are opting for the good old bendy sponge curlers. They are thin so you’ll get that tight curl, bendy so you can lock them in place, and they are cheap. Just how we like it! Simply wind up damp hair in sections around the rollers and curl them to keep them in place. Take out in the morning and hey presto you have gorgeous curls!
Davines Medium Hold Hairspray (£17) Just to make sure those curls stay in place give it a light mist of hairspray. This product is ideal as it dries quickly, so won’t effect the look of your curls, and also has a slight anti-frizz effect. Brilliant.
