Milan Fashion week kicked off yesterday, revealing dazzling collections top designers, and who else but Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele to knock our socks off on Day 1.
The show took place against a red backdrop highlighted the bold designs as they came down the runway. A studded denim pantsuit, an orange zebra overcoat (not joking), and a tiered black gown stood out as my favorite pieces. The show notes stated the collection was, “an intentionally unsystematic thought,” yet somehow the it cohesive in a way that only Gucci could pull off.
While some looks were decidedly less wearable (I swear one model came down the runway wearing tinsel), others took my breath away. There is no debate that the collection is nothing short of a work of art— Gucci certainly set the bar high for the rest of the week.
Today’s lineup won’t disappoint- with collections top designers like Fendi (11:30), Pucci (14:00), and Prada (17:00). Watch select shows live here and tell us what you think on Twitter.
