What do I think about the Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Eye & Lip Cream (£120.00)? For a start I love the idea of putting orchids on my face. That in itself sounds heavenly. I love the gold and royal blue pot in which this delicious cream comes. Everything about it exudes advanced luxury.
I love the fact that a cream works for both eye and lip – both sensitive areas – and I love the way it goes on like fresh invigorating petals, although the orchid properties actually come from their feather-like roots. The cream is non-greasy and seeps instantly into the skin. Guerlain say that seven out of ten women claim their entire face appears younger after one month’s twice daily application.

The gold orchids, also known as golden seeds from the tree of life, thrive in an altitude between 400 and 800 metres in the far reaches of Nepal, northern India, Thailand and China. The gold orchids used by Guerlain are grown in a protected nature reserve without pesticides and fertilisers.
Guerlain discovered through cellular research that gold orchids contain molecules capable of boosting energy production and distribution within progenitor cells. In other words they have the ability to make tissue firmer, denser and fine lines disappear as well as imbibe skin with overall radiance. It works particularly well on dark under-eye circles and is somewhat of a miracle cream. I especially love its luminosity and how nourishing it feels, especially on my lips, which are winter dry. It feels comforting, nurturing and luxurious, a brand new (very decadent) essential this season.
