Christmas parties are now officially in full swing but we’re already thinking about New Year’s Eve. We want to make it extra special this year so we’ve shared some of our tips on food, drinks and fashion that might help you out with your own New Year bash, the perfect setting for that special kiss at midnight.
Food & drink
New Year is an all night affair that can go into the early hours. So, you must stock up on snacks and booze. We recommend Tyrells for snacks.
We love their range of crisps all year round but, at the moment, they have a range of festive snacks which includes their Three Bird Roast crisps and their Bellini Popcorn, which in our experience go down really well so do make sure you stock up!
If you have some extra time on your hands you might even want to whip something up – we would recommend these easy to make whole grain flatbread pizza recipes by chefs Terry & George.
Other than champagne, cocktails are a good option to serve at a New Years party. They do take a bit more prep but you can always make them in advance and serve them up, your guest’s will be delighted. Here are some cocktail recipes you can have a play with:
Star 75 by Bombay Sapphire – serves one
Ingredients:
35ml Star of Bombay
15ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
15ml sugar syrup (2:1 ratio – sugar: hot water)
75ml Martini Prosecco
Maraschino cherry
Method:
1. Pour the lemon juice and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker
2. Add the measure of the Star of Bombay
3. Fill with ice, close and shake well for 10 seconds
4. Carefully strain into a chilled champagne flute

Fashion
For us, New Year’s Eve is all about the sparkle so we’ve gone for a long sequin gown from Pretty Little Thing for anyone who is going for full glam or a sequin pencil dress, also in silver, which too will make you look like a stunning snow queen. If you’re looking for a less icy outfit, we’ve selected a gorgeous lace and satin pleated dress in burgundy to match the festive colours. You should also take a look at the some of our accessories picks to give you some inspo for how to pear your outfit.
