H&M’s International Clothing Collection Initiative

December 6, 2012

H&M Clothing Store

Swedish high street retailer H&M has announced their worldwide clothing collection initiative that will begin as of February 2013. The initiative encourages customers to hand in used garments to any of their stores globally, to be recycled.Through the global initiative the fashion chain’s customers can help to save natural resources and contribute to reduced environmental impact by avoiding textile waste.

Any pieces of clothing from any brand and in any condition will be accepted. In return, customers will receive a voucher for each bag brought in. The collected clothes are then handled by H&M’s partner, I:Collect, which provides the infrastructure in which consumer goods are repeatedly reprocessed and made available for new use.
