Ever wondered what the home of a world renowned fashion designer might look like? These wonderfully creative minds are bound to show within their humble abodes. We wanted to satisfy that little need to have a peek (we’re all guilty) inside the homes of some of the biggest designers on the planet.
From absolute minimal to downright out-there, take a look at the interiors of these style icons. And if these photos don’t give you a bit of inspiration, we don’t know what will!
Coco Chanel
Let’s set the scene. Paris, 31 Rue Cambon, tucked away on a narrow street is the building Gabrielle Chanel purchased in the 1920’s to house her successful fashion business. Coco had a real eclectic mix of decor, from French classic furniture, antiquities, to Italian and Japanese influences.
Diane Von Fustenberg
Diane von Furstenberg’s New York penthouse home reflects her label’s bright colors and lively prints. Highlights include copious animal print, and a pretty funky vintage lips-shaped Salvador Dalí sofa. We’re getting optical illusion vibes…
Yves Saint Laurent
In contrast, the Paris apartment shared by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé on the Rue de Babylone was inspired by two real-life friends, Marie-Laure and Charles de Noailles, two of the most important arts patrons of the 20th-century.
Missoni
Inside the home of Rosita Missoni features intricate, bold and bright fabrics, complementing one another for a dynamic and playful atmosphere.
Karl Lagerfeld
Karl Lagerfeld’s apartment is a massive contrast with its minimalism style, located in New York’s Gramercy Park. Although we can spot zero clutter and you may be guilty to mess the bed up, you can’t get more tranquil than this.
