The Meddler comes to cinemas today.
Following the death of her husband, Marnie (Susan Sarandon) moves from New York City to Los Angeles to be closer to her daughter.
Lori (Rose Byrne) is in the middle of trying to finish the screenplay for a tv series leaving her mum to look elsewhere to distract herself from her sadness. With a new iPhone, an apartment near the Grove and a comfortable bank account left to her by her beloved late husband; Marnie just wants to smother her daughter with motherly love, but the pair end up living in each others pockets..
Eventually Marnie begins to learn to help herself move on from her husbands death. But when the dozens of texts and unexpected visits force Lori to draw strict personal boundaries, Marnie finds ways to channel her optimism and generosity to change the lives of others – as well as her own – and find a new purpose in life.
