London Fashion Week is almost coming to an end, but no fear – we have wonderful makeup trends to take from it and look forward to for AW16.
Here are two big beauty trends we spotted emerging from the London shows so far, that we think are totally wearable and that you can recreate on yourself at home.
The New Statement Lip
Attention fans of the bold lip-look! The catwalks have predicted that deep shades that will be garnishing our pouts this AW16 season.
From red so dark it was almost black at Gareth Pugh to shades of warm reds at Erdem and Vivienne Westwood, the statement lip was reinvented in countless colours as well as different looks too. It’s all about how you apply your lipstick: from worn down and ‘kissed away’, to precise and sharp. Take a look:
‘Kissed Away’ Lips
Ditch the liner and lip brush and get kissed away lips. No worrying about what your lippy looks like after you’ve worn it for hours and/or eaten – it’s part of the imperfect, soft look. Apply with fingertips for this effect.
Sharp Lips
Using a lip brush or liner to apply with precision; to clean up the lines of your lips for the best bold statement lips against nude skin.
Gloss, Gloss, Gloss
Whether its on the skin, eyelids or lips; the wetter and glossier the better. If you can see your own reflection in the shine – you’ve nailed it. Pat lipgloss onto the skin to get an intense sheen.
Hi-shine super glossy lips almost melting away the colour here. Mixing up your dark lipstick with lashings of clear gloss on top is the way to do it…
