Looking for the perfect Friday night in, after the first week back to work? Life Itself is on Sky Cinema as well as being released in cinemas on the 4th Jan and it should come with a mascara warning. You will laugh and cry as you are swept up in this lovely movie that jumps from generation to generation. If you are a fan of This Is Us you will know how this plays out, it is written and directed by Dan Fogelman, the huge talent behind that epic TV show.

Starting with the fabulous Oscar Isaac and Olivia Wilde as a young New York couple showing how they got together in college to their marriage and the birth of their first child. Then you have to sit back and just enjoy the unexpected twists of their journey creating reverberations that echo over continents and through lifetimes. There are so many stories being told during this film, it covers relationships with families and loved ones on so many levels.
Set in New York City and Spain, Life Itself celebrates the human condition and all of its complications with humour, poignancy and love. The characters and story-telling had me so invested that I wanted this to be a 10 part TV show, even though it is quite a long film I wasn’t ready to say goodbye when the credits rolled, I was ready for the next chapter. It’s just 2 mins short of 2 hours but don’t let that put you off, the performances are wonderful from a great cast with some real favourite actors of mine.

Life Itself also stars Antonio Banderas, Annette Bening, Olivia Cooke, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Laia Costa, Alex Monner, and Mandy Patinkin. Watch the trailer and put it on your wish list for your 2019 movies to watch.
Life Itself is released in cinemas and Sky Cinema on 4 January
