I’ve always believed that no matter how miserable you felt, you could always be transformed by a slick of lipstick. Lipstick is the most important tool in our make-up armoury. It’s the most instant, the most obvious and the most feel good.
You can make a statement if you’re tired, and don’t want to show it you could do a red, if you want to be summery you might do a coral even if it’s raining. If you just want to have your lips feeling creamy and good you might do a pretty pink.
Lipstick Queen can take a pretty pink and take it on to the next level. I’m absolutely in love with the smokey lip kit. As a long time fan of the smokey eye it’s an obvious addition. The smokey lip kit is a duo. The first is a dusty pink shade which of course can go on alone. It seems to flatter every skin complexion and it just feels so good thanks to super nourishing ingredients like shea butter and apricot kernel.
The texture of your lips feels so creamy and as a life-long sufferer of dry and peeling lips, this is just the best treatment but also the colours are gorgeous and long lasting.
Lipstick queen is known for its transformative effect on the lips themselves. Not just making them look pump and delicious but the colour especially devised to enhance your own lips natural pigment. When you apply the second lipstick in the kit to the pink it comes in a black lace lipstick tube and inside the colour is a shimmer of moonlight mauve with a special almost stardust quality to it. Once it goes over the pink you have night and day in the one set. Of course you can wear the smokey in the day and the pinky in the night – it’s a cocktail. You experiment with your mood. You instantly feel part of something.
Lipstick Queen’s founder Poppy King has had a lifelong obsession with the super powers of lipstick. When she was a child growing up in Australia she used to play with her mother’s lipsticks rather than dolls and learnt from the age of 6 how different colours made you feel very different. She used to call them super powers. Her lips were her own batman cape. And you feel this whenever you wear a lipstick queen it does more than just add a colour. It adds dimension, texture, edge and of course super power.
