All of my childhood dreams are coming true with the UK’s newest comedy series as two of my favorite actors from back in the day unite. As a huge fan of both Harry Potter and The Parent Trap and Mean Girls, you can imagine my excitement to see Lindsay Lohan and Rupert Grint are teaming up for Sky 1’s Sick Note.
The TV series will follow insurance rep Daniel Glass (Grint), a compulsive liar who is failing at both his relationships and his boring job. An inept oncologist, played by Nick Frost, misdiagnoses Glass with a terminal illness and the two agree he should hide it. He then faces a decision: let people treat him better as if he’s sick, or go back to his old dull life.
Although the show hasn’t begun, it’s already signed for a second series. This is where Lohan comes in. The US actress will play Katerina West, the daughter of Glass’s boss (played by Don Johnson). The head of Sky’s comedy, Jon Mountague, was quoted saying “One lie leads to the next in this unsettlingly brilliant comedy that will hook viewers in and have them on the very edge of their seats.”
The series is produced by King Bert and will run on Sky 1 and NOW TV starting this autumn. Series two will premiere early 2018.
