Somewhat dangerously for footwear aficionados around the UK (and their bank accounts), Christian Louboutin launches its European e-commerce site today. The luxury French label will be selling the Spring 2012 men’s and women’s collections together with the recently launched 20th anniversary capsule line.
Alongside a 360 degree view, customers will be able to shop for both shoes and bags according to colour, size or heel height and will soon be able to watch a video of each product in action. Despite the obvious retail focus of the new site, shoe porn lovers won’t be disappointed with the signature Louboutin design elements. Each shoe is set against a photographic background that best represents the inspiration for the design, such as a Los Angeles swimming pool and New York skyline, as well as more personal images such as the chickens at Louboutin’s French farm.
The European e-commerce site is the first of a number of digital initiatives in the pipeline for Louboutin, including an iPhone app and a Burberry-esque option for customers to pre-order styles from the Autumn 2012 collection.
