We always knew that golden Hollywood girl of the moment Lupita Nyong’o was beautiful, but boy have Lancome Paris shown her off to perfection. After her multiple red carpet Cinderella moments during this year’s awards season, and her tear-jerking speeches at the podiums as she scooped award, after award, after award, a high profile campaign, whether fashion or beauty, was inevitable.
It was Lancome Paris that got there first, announcing they’d nabbed her the moment she signed the contracts, and now we see the first glimpse of the campaigns that will see her gazing at us from magazine pages and billboards the world over.
The first ad shows her dark doe eyes peeping at us, head resting upon hand, to promote their Teint Idole Ultra 24h Foundation (£28.50), which is available in a whopping 18 shades, a reflection on how the beauty market is expanding to fit the needs of every skin tone, eye colour and hair shade.
Whether airbrushing tricks and colour tinkering has been put to use in this ad or not, we’ve seen enough of Lupita to know that her own very real skin gleams and glows just as much as it does in the newly released advert for Lancome, we can’t wait to see what else the french beauty house have in store for her.
