I have recently been enchanted with a salon in Notting Hill Gate called Privet – it offers top to toe body topiary.
And much more.
Inside the salon there are several gorgeously arranged garden sheds which are the treatment rooms, Each one is different and designated for varying treatments. And I love its unisexual qualities. It is so much more than waxing. There are manicures, facials and massages – all excellent.
I was taken to the Writer`s Hut for a massage. There was a little old fashioned typewriter on a tiny wooden desk and vintage books everywhere. I had an incredible massage. It was strong, painful but in a good way, no bruising and aches the next day. It was thorough and perfect.
There was the Log Cabin featuring deers with antlers and a Potting Shed with cute little shrubs, pots and a 1950s radio.
Men have the ultimate masculine enclave called the Tool Shed, where tiny tools adorn the walls and where close shaves are preformed any way you like them.
At the moment they are offering Bonsai Summer Makeovers – perfect grooming in just one hour and a fifteen minute file and polish on hands or feet. I had a mini manicure in a fetching shade of vampy red and it lasted well over a week, which was a good investment for 15 minutes.
Privet is just the kind of hedge you could get lost in.
