Charlie Brown’s best friend is going glam – again. Snoopy, along with his sister Belle, is getting a designer makeover for the second “Snoopy in Fashion” project, originally created in 1984. The original project included Snoopy and Belle dolls wearing the hottest fashions of the day by designers like Karl Lagerfeld, Gucci, Giorgio Armani and Versace. The dolls were first shown at the Louvre before moving on to other locations across Europe and Asia.  The newest incarnation of the project will include designer duds by Calvin Kline Collection, Rodarte, Betsey Johnson and Diane von Furstenberg, who designed for the original Snoopy in Fashion project.

The 2014 Snoopy in Fashion collection is set to launch at the New Museum in New York during New York Fashion Week, in time for the 30th anniversary of the project and the 65th anniversary of the first Peanuts comic strip.  From New York, the Snoopy and Belle dolls will travel in Paris, Moscow and Milan, which is a pretty big deal for a little dog whose only outfit until now has been a leather pilot’s jacket and goggles!

Aside from their 65th anniversary and the revival of Snoopy in Fashion, Charlie Brown and his band of beloved comic characters have more to celebrate about: their first-ever big screen adaptation is scheduled for release next year.
