When I heard about M2 Beaute’s Black Nano mascara – 3 looks 1 tube I was very keen to try it. I’m always looking for the perfect mascara and my search has yielded me a few heroes. Different ones that I like for different things. But this, how nirvana – it was going to be 3 looks in one package. With a simple switching of brushes you get the natural, the precision and the very volume. There are many things that go into making a great mascara apart from its ability to thicken, lengthen and stay on your eyelashes. The texture is very important if it’s glossy or matte and of course the brush means different things to different lashes.
It arrives posing in its elegant mauve tube. How could 3 brushes be in that? Well ….. The brushes were separate. I started off with the natural brush which was surprisingly beautiful. The mascara was dense, shiny, but at the same time not clumpy. It was a deep pitch black. It lasted well and for my evening I went for volume. The volume brush is a bulky spider that gives jet black lashes with uber volume and it’s the most dramatic option. My evening went well and I didn’t have to reapply. It cleansed off nicely and the next day when I had more time for make-up I tried the precision brush. This was a mixture of natural with extra definition. The brushes separated the lashes and made for a kind of dolls-eye look. Again lovely. Then I was doing a trip and of course I went to pack my new exciting mascara and here’s the problem. You have to pack 3 brushes. The brushes didn’t have their own case so I just packed them in the box they came in but by the time I took that out things had got messy. The precision one was a little twisted and the volume one had fallen to the depths of the suitcase and was located inside a tapestry ankle boot. There’s no point in taking it as carry on because the brushes have to live separately so while they are living i your bathroom this is fine. Not so travel friendly.
I’ve recently been reunited with Marc Jacobs black velvet mascara which is everything you want in a mascara. So shiny, so black, so volumising, so juicy but I no longer carry it with me in airports because airports and planes are places where I lose mascaras or they are taken from me by over efficacious security. So the woman with the million mascaras ventured to buy another. I was recommended Grandiose by Lancome which I had tried before with its angled brush. It makes it easy and quick to reply and the mascara is super lengthening and long lasting. This is a necessary addition to my handbag.
The Nano mascara is a beautiful mascara and its choice of brushes do not belong at the bottom of a make-up bag so I am using it as a home-based mascara. I really like its texture and the way all brushes allow the mascara itself to look good due to its ultra-fine pigment concentration. It also feels good on the lashes. Its ingredients such as cranberry, Gota Kola extract and licorice root extract help nourish and build strong healthy lashes.
M2 Beaute likes to pride itself on manufacturing cosmetic products with innovative ingredients so I love the mascara for its ingredients and its innovation and I don’t mind swapping the brushes around. It’s quite exciting to have a different look but I just wish it was more portable.
